Joker: Ghetto Clang Mix

August 24, 2010

Joker was on Mary Anne Hobbes’ Experimental Show the other day, and he really blew us away with this mix. He starts off smooth and dreamy–loving that distorted guitar sound to complement the ambient synths.  The set is sprinkled with new, fresh tracks, some of which we won’t be able to get out of our heads until a name is put to them and others that no one was probably expecting. Just prepare for major flashbacks toward the end of this one.

Do whatever you need to do to get relaxed, because nothing quite sounds like this guy. A little bit of funk, a little bit of crunk, and a lot of kick-snare makes for a delicious 45-minute bass concoction. If dubstep were a woman, Joker would most certainly be her pimp. Bow to the King of the Purple City.
